EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon men's tennis team improved to 4-1 on the season and finished the morning with a 7-0 victory against Portland State University.
Oregon won the doubles point, winning all three doubles matches with scores of 8-3 from Marcos Verdasco and Alexander Cornelissen, an 8-3 win from Ric Mortera and Nico Bjerke, and an 8-2 win from Jose Izquierdo and Douglas Mayeda.
The Ducks sailed through singles as well, including two 6-0, 6-0 trounces by No. 2 Alexander Cornelissen and No. 5 Aaron Clissold. Portland State won just 10 points in all six singles matches combined.
Oregon will battle Seattle later this afternoon at 3p.m. at The Eugene Swim and Tennis Club.
