In the face of adversity, the No. 11 Oregon volleyball team passed an early season test, Tuesday night.
In a match that once again utilized the entire lineup, the Oregon volleyball team continued its undefeated streak by beating LIU Brooklyn, 25-9, 25-10, 24-26, 25-17, Monday night.
The Ducks notched their second straight sweep with a 25-11, 25-21, 25-15 victory over the Mids.
Oregon started the 2015 season the same way it has started the past 11 seasons – with a win.
Young but talented, the Ducks will learn a lot about themselves with nine matches on the road over the next two weeks.
All-Americans Sonja Newcombe and Liz Brenner led the offensive charge, combining for 54 kills.
The match will begin Saturday at 7 p.m. at Matthew Knight Arena, with both parking and admission free of charge.
Frankie Shebby led all players with 17 kills while the Yellow Team won, 3-1.
Similar to years past, fans will have the chance to meet coaches and players with a Q&A during the match and autographs to follow.
