2011 — Capital One academic All-America second team, becoming the 11th football player in school history to earn academic All-America accolades … Also a first-team academic all-district and Pac-12 all-academic first team selection … Started all 14 games at left guard … Part of an offensive unit that ranked third in the nation in scoring, fifth in rushing and sixth in total offense … Finished second among all linemen during conditioning drills with a 365-pound bench press.

2010 — First-team all-Pac-10 according to Phil Steele and Scout.com, and a second-team selection by Rivals.com … Also earned Pac-10 first-team all-Academic honors … Appeared in all 13 games, starting ten … Nine starts at right guard with an opening assignment at left guard coming at Tennessee … Helped pave the way for the nation’s top running back and No. 4 rushing team overall … Part of an offensive line that contributed to the top scoring offense (47.0 points per game) and total offense (530.7) in the FBS while rolling up six games of 300 or more rushing yards … Named to preseason all-Pac-10 second team by Phil Steele Publications … Equalled the fourth-best squat among offensive linemen at 450 lbs. during winter testing.

2009 — Oregon’s starting left guard in 12 of 13 games … Started at right guard against USC due to Mark Asper’s injury … Recipient of first-team Pac-10 all-academic honors … Awarded freshman All-American status by two publications … Second-team freshman All-American by College Football News … Third-team Freshman All-American by Phil Steele Publications … Played 70 or more snaps in two games, including a career-high 81 plays at Arizona … Recorded 41 pancake blocks in the regular season.

2008 — Redshirt season … Earned offensive scout team player of the week honors for his efforts leading up to the win vs. UCLA … Delayed enrollment until the 2008 winter term while recovering from shoulder surgery after originally signing with the Ducks in 2007.

BEFORE OREGON — One of the Northwest’s top prospects garnered SuperPrep All-America honors in addition to four-star recognition by Rivals.com and Scout.com recruiting services … Considered the state’s top recruit and one of the best offensive line hopefuls in the country, receiving votes on the Long Beach Press-Telegram’s Best in the West listing … Also ranked third among SuperPrep’s Northwest Hot 100 elite … The 5A all-Idaho second-team lineman played a key role in the Timberwolves’ unblemished 12-0 ledger and 5A state championship  … Also a two-time regional shot put champion who placed second in the state meet as a junior and third his senior year with a school-record 53-5.
