2010 Team Awards: Outstanding Academic Achievement
Played three seasons at Oregon (2009-11) as the Ducks reinstated baseball for the 2009 season after the sport had been discontinued following 1981…in three years batted .187 (17-for-91) with 10 RBIs, 21 runs scored, one triple, one home run and four stolen bases.
Was named to the California Collegiate All-League Second Team after batting .311 with 25 runs scored, five doubles, three triples, two home runs and 18 RBIs for the San Luis Obispo Blues (34-15), who were named co-champions of the CCL… did well on the bases stealing 10 of 11 attempts, and was named to the CCL All-Star Game.
AS A JUNIOR | 2011
Appeared in 21 games, making one start at third base…used mostly as a pinch runner for the Ducks, and was hitless in 14 at-bats…in a 6-4 victory over Portland went on in the eighth as a pinch runner and scored what proved to be the game-winning run (04/13)…in a series-opening 4-2 victory over No. 20 Arizona, scored what proved to be the game-winning run in the eighth after going on for Ryan Hambright who led off the bottom of the inning with a single (04/21)…helped the Ducks add some insurance after going on in the eighth against the No. 20 Wildcats, stealing third and scoring in UO’s 7-3 series-clinching win over UA (04/23).
Played for the San Luis Obispo Blues of the California Collegiate League…hit .236 with 23 RBIs, 22 runs scored, two home runs and four doubles…drew 22 walks and stole seven bases.
AS A SOPHOMORE | 2010
In 28 games and 10 starts hit .302 on the season with 11 runs scored, one triple, one home run and seven RBIs...started four consecutive games for an injured J.J. Altobelli at third base from 5/11-5/16 as the Ducks went 4-0...hit .438 in that stretch with four runs scored, one triple, two RBIs and one stolen base…season highlights included a 2-for-5 effort at the plate and the first triple of his career in a 13-4 victory over No. 19 San Diego (5/11)…hit the first round-tripper of his career – a two-out, two-run shot on a 3-1 count – in the seventh inning of Oregon’s 19-10 victory at Gonzaga (4/21).
Played for the Spokane RiverHawks (19-29) of the West Coast League…hit .239 in 23 appearances (20 starts)…finished the summer with five RBIs and one double.
AS A FRESHMAN | 2009
Started eight of Oregon’s first nine games at third base...on the year appeared in 21 games, making 14 starts at third...hit .118 (4-for-34) on the year with two RBIs and two walks...in a 7-1 victory over Fresno State (2/28) went 2-for-3 with two RBIs...defensively committed just one error in 37 chances for a .973 fielding percentage...also tallied 28 assists and turned four double plays.
A 2008 graduate of Santa Cruz High School (Calif.)...played three seasons of shortstop for head coach Bob Kittle...won back-to-back Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League championships for the Cardinals...also was a two-time first team all-county selection.
