September 17 was our first day of practice. This day was very exciting for each one of us! The eight of us finally got to see each other in person! Trudie, Siobhan and I are the only returners and we have five newcomers - Molly, Emmanuelle, Sabine, Julia, and Mahdi.
We spent the entire morning together while signing papers and going through physicals. After lunch, we did our mile run test and then finally hit our first balls under Maja's and Courtney's coaching revision. Paul was not with us because he was recruiting for the first couple of days of practice in Germany. It was a tough day of practice but we all worked hard and enjoyed it!
The next day, we were all fresh and ready for 7 a.m. practice. The weather was beautiful which made us even happier and ready for the next practice in the afternoon.
Saturday was fantastic because there was a football game, Ducks against Utah in Autzen Stadium. Some of us went there after morning practice and enjoyed the atmosphere in the stadium!
Sunday's practice followed with morning 400m running test for which we were so ready to pass! In the afternoon, Maja and Courtney were so nice because they took us to the Spencer Butte hiking area which was awesome! We all had a wonderful time and started to be even more excited about our retreat because there we were supposed to be hiking as well.
Monday was the first day of Paul's practice! We were finally all together! Most of us were looking forward to Tuesday's swimming workout which followed after morning tennis and conditioning practice. Swimming was enjoyable but we all had to admit that it was tough too.
Wednesday was one of the most exciting days because after our morning workout we were leaving for camping in Southern Oregon! Overall, the first week of practice was great, good job everybody!
