Hello Duck tennis fans! My name is Molly McDevitt and I am a sophomore transfer on this year's Oregon women's tennis team and I must say that I am LOVING it.  We We are in the midst of training after our first fall tournament and preparing for regionals coming up in a week and a half.  Last week we really kicked practice and conditioning into gear with a full day of running and weights (no tennis) followed by four days of intense on and off court workouts.  On our first day back from Colorado Springs the team jumped into the pool for a morning swim (always a quick and fun way to wake up)!  Later in the afternoon we warmed up with a lovely timed mile, quickly followed by one of the most beautiful runs through Hendricks park (Hendricks park is a gorgeous spot with scenic flower bends and wooded area not far from the U of O campus).  However, the day was not over yet!  We were lucky enough to get some sprints and abs done on the turf before heading off to weights.  Yes, a long day indeed, but I must say it is hard to complain when you are in the company of such a great group of people.  To continue with the week's practices, we turned down the running a notch and hit the courts.  However, do not worry the intensity was still in full speed.  The coaches pushed us and we kept right up there with them! To conclude a tough, but awesome week we played some doubles and singles sets on Saturday morning (Not to mention and fabulous win of UCLA for the football team).  After all that team bonding over the week, somehow us girls never get sick of each other.  We rewarded our survival by celebrating our teammate Mahdi's nineteenth birthday with a team dinner.  The food could not have been better!  Homemade by our famous French chef, Emmanuelle Cor, we enjoyed some fantastic quiche and more.
