Hello again!  So we are now well into our first term of the 2009-2010 year as the University of Oregon Women's tennis team.  We have now faced this year's first midterms and our three fall tournaments.  The lovely Ducks concluded the fall season with a trip to the land of enchantment, the 505 or otherwise known as Albuquerque, New Mexico! What many of you may not know is that Albuquerque not only has a weird and long name, but it where yours truly was born and raised.  To say the least I was PUMPED to head home!  Now enough about me.... Back to the Ducks!  We arrived to a sunny, warm 75 degrees and immediately hit the courts for a chance to check what we were up against for the next few days; in other words we were off to warm up and hit of the day ;).  After a chance to adjust to the altitude and the bubble (along with the seven outdoor courts, the University of New Mexico had six indoor courts under a big, white bubble) the team enjoyed a fabulous dinner at the Cutler-McDevitt's.  What more could best prepare a group of tennis players than mother's home-cooked dinner.  The Ducks woke up Saturday morning ready and determined for a grand finale to a great fall season.  Although the first day was a little shaky for some of us, we quickly turned it around and ended the tournament with a much stronger finish (and a few more GO DUCKS)!  I must say, I am a rather sad to say good-bye to my first fall season, but I cannot wait too see what the spring has in store for us!  We have nothing but fun together as a team and coaches whether it be running 400s, playing drills like hot seat, or singing at the top of our lungs when we are driving in the car.  Thanks to the Ducks for a great fall and I am excessively ecstatic to see what more we will learn and love together!  I only hope that all you fans out there can enjoy this group of girls and coaches as I do.
