Eugene, Or.

Oregon Head Coach George Horton:

On this tonight’s performance:

“The enemy is ourselves. I’m not taking away anything from the Pilots. We’ve got to fix a lot of things right now to become a good baseball team.”

On the season’s performance:

“Ultimately we’re not playing the game of baseball very well and that’s my fault.”

On the upcoming trip to Long Beach:

“We’re not afraid. We’re not weak or looking for a wounded team. It’s not going to get easier. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ll be ready. I hope my team will be too.”

On the comment that the Ducks are overrated:

“You’re right.  Right now I would say the Ducks are overrated. But can we be a top 10 team and go to Omaha? Absolutely.”

On the biggest obstacle this season:

“The biggest glaring weakness we have is offense.”

On the Portland Pilot’s performance:

“They’ve got a chip on their shoulder. That’s what I need out of my guys.”

Freshman Catcher Aaron Jones

On tonight:

“Tough loss. Our guys have been struggling. Our pitchers are doing well. We just need to score more runs.”

On what went wrong tonight:

“Guys are trying to do too much. Our motto is ‘control the controllables.’ So we have to come out and play like that.”
