At this weekend's Cardinal Invite at Stanford University, Oregon senior Steve Finley had a career day to put his name atop the NCAA record books for this season.
Finley, a transfer from Virginia, ran a collegiate best time in the men's 3,000 meter steeplechase. Finley finished with a time of 8:36.98, and finished 10th behind nine professionals.
Finley's time was only two seconds away from placing him within the Oregon all-time top 10 for the event. It was also the fastest steeplechase ran by a Duck in over two decades. The time was a personal best for Finley by more than three seconds.
Look for Finley to have a great showing at the Pac-10 Championships beginning on the 13th of May.
