Pac-12 Release

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Oregon senior right-hander Alex Keudell was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week for the second week in a row, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Monday.

The Portland, Ore., native struck out a season-best seven batters, allowed just one run on five hits and walked no one in Oregon’s 4-2 series-opening victory over then-sixth-ranked Stanford on Friday at Sunken Diamond.

The senior also pitched an inning of relief against San Francisco last Tuesday, allowing an unearned run as the Ducks defeated the Dons, 4-1. Keudell is now 4-0 in his last four starts and has allowed just two runs (one earned) in his last 32 innings of work.

This is Keudell’s second career Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week selection and Oregon’s fifth all-time selection. Keudell joins the likes of former Pac-12 pitchers Trevor Bauer (UCLA), Tim Lincecum (Washington) and Mike Leake (ASU) as one of a select few Conference pitchers to earn the weekly honor in back-to-back weeks.

Keudell picked up his 17th career win on the mound at Stanford, tying for third all-time in Oregon history.

UCLA junior center fielder Beau Amaral was named Pac-12 Player of the Week.
