Caroline Federighi, sophomore goalkeeper for Oregon Lacrosse, earned herself the title of this week’s Student-Athlete of the Week! On Sunday, Federighi saved an impressive nine goals to help the Ducks win their first Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament (MPSF) Title over Stanford.
The Ducks’ 13-10 victory ended Stanford’s seven consecutive MPSF wins, and for the first time in program history, the Ducks have defeated Stanford twice in one season.
This victory moved Federighi’s overall record to 14-3 with 128 total saves in the 2012 season. Federighi was named MVP of the MPSF All-Tournament Team, and four of her teammates were named to the team as well.
The Ducks are currently on an impressive season-high nine match win streak, and hope to extend the streak to ten this Saturday. Come out to Papé Field on Saturday, May 5th at 1:00pm to see Federighi and the Ducks take on Navy for a berth in the final sixteen of the NCAA Tournament!Past GoDucks.com Student-Athletes of the Week
