Walker's Pace: Women No. 7, Men No. 22 This Week

Tuesday, May 1, 2012

The Women of Oregon slipped two spots to No. 7, while the men remained at No. 22 in the latest USTFCCCA poll.

With most of the Ducks running relays at Penn, there wasn't much movement on Oregon's 2012 performances. However, that was not the case with the rest of the poll.

Texas took over the top spot in the women's poll for the first time this year, while Florida reclaimed the men's poll.

Ahead of Oregon on the women's list were Texas, Clemson, Florida, Louisiana State, Kansas and Texas A&M.

Many Pac-12 teams are creeping up on the Ducks as the conference championships loom in less that two weeks at Hayward Field. Right behind Oregon were No. 8 Arizona, No. 11 Arizona State, No. 12 Stanford and No. 13 USC.

In the men's poll, the top five took on a Pac-12 flavor. After Florida, it was A&M, ASU, USC and Florida State.

Other Pac-12 schools in the rankings were No. 14 Arizona and No. 19 Stanford.

Oregon will host the inagural Pac-12 Championships May 12-13 at Historic Hayward Field.
