BOISE, Idaho - University of Oregon men's golf head coach Casey Martin climbed 13 places in second-round action of the Albertsons Boise Open, thanks to his four-under 67 Friday at the Hillcrest Country Club.

The Eugene native stood in a nine-way tie at seven under (68-67-135) and made the cut which stood at 5-under.
 
On Friday, Martin shot five birdies on holes 2, 3, 14-16; 12 par scores; and one bogey on the first hole. Among those tallies he still tied for first in the field for 36 holes in eagles (2), 16th in pars (24) and 11th in driving distance (319.0 yards).

In the event's first round Thursday, he shot two eagles (#2, 16), two birdies (#3, 9), one bogey (#10) and one double-bogey (#18). On the remaining 12 holes, he shot par scores (1, 4-8, 11-15, 17).

His two eagles tied for the most of the day, and he also stood 44th in number of par holes (12).

On the overall leaderboard, Michael Putnam (62-65-127) shot a six-under second round Friday, and held onto the lead by strokes over Richard Lee (second, 67-62-129).
