BREMERTON, Wash. - The No. 14 University of Oregon men's golf team opened action in seventh place Monday in the Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational at the Olympic Course at Gold Mountain.
In their fall season opener, the Ducks (300-300-600) stood at 24-over on the par-71, 6,707-yard course. No. 5 Washington (283-290-573 (-3)) owned a six-stroke on the field and was followed by No. 10 Texas A&M (second, 292-287-579).
Other teams ahead of UO included St. Mary's (third, 291-296-587), UC Davis (298-291-589), No. 17 San Diego State (fifth, 294-297-591) and Washington State (sixth, 291-302-593).
For the Ducks, sophomore Rak Cho (fifth-tie, 74-69-143) led UO in a round for the fifth and sixth times of his career, and also staked his 11th collegiate round of par or better.
Other Oregon team entries included freshman Sulman Raza (30th-tie, 76-75-151), redshirt senior Robbie Ziegler (33rd-tie, 74-78-152), freshman Brandon McIver (44th-tie, 76-78-154) and sophomore Jonathan Woo (59th-tie, 78-80-158).
On the individual leaderboard, Drew Evans of Texas A&M (71-66-137 (-5)) sported a four-stroke lead. Caston Roberts (69-72-141) and Gerit Chambers of Washington (71-70-141) followed in a tie for second place at one-under.
