The student athlete of the week for the week ending September 30th is senior transfer Trevor Dunbar from the Oregon cross country team. Dunbar won the men’s individual title this past Sunday at the Dellinger meet, with a time of 23:38.

Last year, Dunbar was a crucial member of the Ducks’ team that won their sixth straight Pac-12 title by scoring in two events. The two-time All-American was a 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier and went to the NCAA Championships in the 5,000 meters. He is the Alaska state record-holder at 3,200 meters, as well as the USA Junior champion at 5,000 meters.

The senior economics major from Kodiak, Alaska, transferred from the University of Portland in 2011.

Next up, Dunbar and the Oregon cross country team will compete at Pre-Nationals on October 13th in Louisville, Kentucky.
