Walker's Pace: Men Jump to No. 15
Tuesday, October 1, 2012
Following a strong performance at the Bill Dellinger Invitational, the Men of Oregon jumped eight spots to No. 15 in this week's USTFCCCA poll.
It is the highest ranking of the season for the Duck men.
The women fell one place to No. 4, as Pac-12 rival Arizona surged to No. 2 this week.
Florida State took over the top spot in the women's poll for the first time in 2012, but the Pac-12 held four of the top seven spots with Arizona behind FSU, Washington at No. 3, Oregon at No. 4 and Stanford at No. 7. The league also had Colorado at No. 18.
The Pac-12 championships on Oct. 27 in Santa Clarita, Calif., should be the marquee women's meet in the nation that weekend.
The men's poll remained unchanged at the top with defending NCAA champion Wisconsin No. 1, Oklahoma State No. 2 and BYU - coming off its Dellinger Invite title - No. 3.
There were four Pac-12 teams in the poll - No. 7 Colorado, No. 8 Stanford, No. 15 Oregon and No. 27 UCLA.
