A month ago in other PGA action, the seventh-year Duck head mentor Martin tied for 55th place in the Albertsons Boise Open with his seven-under score (68-67-70-72-277).

Martin finished 15 strokes behind winner Luke Guthrie (64-71-62-65-262), and complete results are available at the PGA website by clicking HERE.

The Eugene native also added another impressive chapter to his lengthy and distinguished pro career with his second U.S. Open appearance in June at the Olympic Club. He missed the cut by only one stroke with a nine-over score (74-75-149) on the par-70 course.

He earned his invite to the nation's toughest test after his win and four-under score at the qualifier two weeks before at the Emerald Valley Golf Club (69-69-138).

Martin also appeared in the same event at the same location in 1998, and tied for 23rd overall (74-71-74-72-291).

Looking ahead team-wise, the No. 25 Ducks compete in their third of four fall stops next week in the Pac-12 Preview at Pumpkin Ridge near Portland, Ore., Oct. 8-9.
