EUGENE, Ore. -- The Oregon Ducks earned their first win over Arizona since 2009 on Sunday afternoon in Eugene.

Oregon's 5-2 win moved them to 11-4 overall and 1-3 in Pac-12 play.  Arizona fell to 8-8 (0-3).

The Wildcats took two-of-three from Oregon in doubles play to start the day.  However, Oregon's Brooke Hughes and Sofia Hager broke a four-match losing streak with an 8-2 victory in the No. 3 match.  Nicole Long and Patricia Skowronski fell, 8-4, in the No. 1 match and Julia Metzger and Pascale Neubert lost their No. 2 match, 8-3.

But the Ducks rallied in singles play.  Skowronski started things off with a 6-3, 6-2 win in the No. 2 match over Kim Stubbe and Metzger followed with a 6-1, 6-4 victory in the No. 3 match.  For Metzger, the win marked her 11th in a row.  She is now 13-1 in dual matches and 4-0 in Pac-12 play.  Neubert lost in straight sets in the No. 4 singles slot.

With the match tied, 2-2, Long defeated 48th-ranked Lacey Smyth in three sets (6-2, 4-6, 6-2) in the No. 1 match to give Oregon its first lead of the day, 3-2.

Moments later, Rabea Stueckemann outlasted Inge Hendriks in three sets (3-6, 6-4, 6-3) in the No. 6 match to seal the victory for Oregon.

Lana Buttner rallied to beat Susan Mc Rann in a third-set tiebreaker to cap the day.

For Oregon, the victory snapped a three-match losing streak and marked the first Pac-12 win of the season.

The Ducks hit the road for their next two matches.  They will face Colorado in Boulder on March 29 and Utah in Salt Lake City on March 31.  Both matches are slated for 10 a.m.
