NEW ORLEANS – Both the Oregon men’s and women’s track and field teams found themselves in familiar territory, Monday, as each was ranked in the USTFCCCA Division I National Team Indoor Computer Rankings. The Men of Oregon were slotted third while the Women of Oregon were tabbed fourth.

The national team rankings are compiled by mathematical formulae based on national descending order lists and data taken from previous seasons and does not include the impact of the Ducks’ dual No. 1 recruiting classes touted by Track and Field News.

The men’s team is No. 3 behind Arkansas and Florida and led by Mike Berry (400 meters), Boru Guyota (800 meters), and Trevor Dunbar (5,000 meters) all of whom checked in at No. 2 in their respective events. The distance events are slated to be a strong suit for the Ducks who placed three returners among the top 10 in the mile, 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters.

The four-time defending champion checked in at No. 4 and are led by top returning 800 meters runner Laura Roesler and second-ranked Phyllis Francis at 400 meters — both of whom are members of the Preseason Watch List for The Bowerman. Roesler is also joined by Illinois transfer Samantha Murphy, who is No. 2 on the 800 meters list. Sprinter Jenna Prandini is No. 3 at 60 meters.

Oregon will open its indoor season this weekend at the UW Indoor Preview in Seattle. The meet is scheduled to begin Saturday at 8 a.m. PT.
