The honorable mention All-American (USA Today) accumulated 118 tackles and three quarterback sacks his senior year for a team which forged an unblemished 13-0 record. Included in defensive totals were three fumble recoveries, two blocked kicks and one tackle for a safety. Also caught 23 passes for 454 yards and six TDs as a tight end. The Modesto-area player of the year and Trans Valley League MVP established school record for total defensive points, including program’s all-time best 20 stops as a junior to earn all-league honors at linebacker and offensive tackle.
Adapted to a new position as a junior, moving to tight end after brief stints as a linebacker and fullback. However the remaining consistency is his three-year starting role as Oregon’s long snapper. Demonstrated ability to grasp intricacies of new position quickly, now needs more reps to become comfortable with new role. Adds speed and strength to the position (455-lb. squat; 377- lb. bench press). Provides a measure of maturity and leadership to the fold after having his collegiate career interrupted by a two-year religious mission in 1999 and 2000.
