2011-12: Recorded 12 singles wins including 8 during the spring dual season...Competed at four singles spots, tied for the most among the Ducks, including No. 3 (1-0), No. 4 (1-1), No. 5 (6-10), and No. 6 (0-1)...Defeated Simon Meske 6-2, 2-6, 1-0 (10) in Oregon's 7-0 Feb. 17 victory over Seattle U marking Jose's highest ranked singles win at No. 3 singles...Posted a 16-2 spring doubles record (24-4 overall)...His 19 doubles victories with Alex Rovello ties them for second in school history for doubles wins in a season...Together with Rovello the Oregon tandem finished the year winning 8 of their last 10 matches, best on the team...Izquierdo's 24 total doubles wins shattered his previous season-high of 14 which he tallied in each of the last two years. Fall: Went 4-3 in singles play during the 2011 fall season…Advanced to the quarterfinal of the Bulldog Classic (9/30-10/2) going 2-1… Finished the 2011 fall doubles season with an 8-2 record with Alex Rovello (3-2) and Aaron Clissold (5-0)… Pairing with Clissold, the Oregon duo won the Bulldog Classic (9/30-10/2) going 5-0 for the tournament.
2010-11: Went 11-10 in singles play during the dual season (14-13 overall) … won his first six singles matches, tied for the longest winning streak of any UO player … played seven matches that lasted three sets, posting a 5-2 mark when going the distance … recorded a critical singles victory over Geoff Embry in a 4-3 upset win over No. 53 Arizona (3/27) … finished with a 10-10 dual record in doubles play (14-13 overall), pairing mostly with Baptiste Faynot (8-11) … also partnered with Douglas Mayeda (2-2) and Sho Higuchi (2-0) … had a decisive 8-2 doubles victory with Faynot over Loyola Marymount’s Daniel Simko and Jack Zapala and defeated No. 10 California’s brother duo Ben and Riki McLachlan 7-6. Fall: Led team with a 4-2 record in doubles play while also going 3-2 in singles … went 2-1 while partnered with Doug Mayeda at the Boise State Fall Classic (10/8-10/9) … went 2-1 with partner Sho Higuchi at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships (10/16-10/17) … won first two singles matches at the Boise State Fall Classic (10/8-10/9).
2009-10: Went 14-11 in doubles play, winning his first nine decisions of the spring … paired with Aaron Clissold for a season-best 10-6 doubles record … competed out of the No. 4, 5 and 6 positions in singles play, going 3-15 … defeated Weber State’s Ben Rode (6-1, 6-1) in singles play in the season opener. Fall: Posted a singles record of 2-6 and doubles mark of 3-3 in fall play ... partnered with Nico Bjerke (2-2) and Sho Higuchi (1-1) ... went 2-2 in singles play at the ITA Regionals.
2008-09: Played primarily at the No. 4 singles position for the Ducks in his freshman season, compiling a 12-13 duals record ... lost his opening round match of the Pac-10 Singles Championships to Stanford's No. 18-ranked Alex Clayton in tight fashion, 6-4, 7-6 (3) ... bounced around in doubles play, teaming with five different Ducks to compile an overall mark of 5-14 at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles ... best record came with fellow freshman Ayrton Wibowo, going 4-4. Fall: Did not arrive in Eugene until January and did not compete with the team in the fall.
Before Oregon: One of the top juniors in Spain ... advanced to the quarterfinals in both singles and doubles in the 2008 Spanish Nationals ... has accumulated several top 100 Spanish singles and doubles wins ... played in first tennis tournament at age 12 ... has worked with current coach, Victor Recio, for the last three years.
