EUGENE, Ore. - University of Oregon baseball head coach George Horton has been suspended for the next three games following his ejection during last Sunday’s game against Washington.
Ejection for physical contact with an umpire carries an automatic three-game suspension to be served immediately.
The incident occurred during the fifth inning of the game against the Huskies. The umpire’s report following Sunday’s game indicated that Horton’s hat touched the umpire while he was disputing a call.
Horton will miss two games against Sacramento State on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, as well as Friday’s series opener with Oregon State.
