STOCKTON, Calif. – Daniel Miernicki’s 4-under 67 highlighted Oregon’s final round at the Stockton Sports Commission Pacific Invitational, played Wednesday at the par-71, 6,757-yard Brookside Country Club. Oregon struggled to a 5-over 289 in the final round to finish third at 834. Still it was the Ducks’ fourth top-three finish in four fall events. UC Davis won the event by shooting a 286 Wednesday to finish at 832. Brigham Young was second at 833 followed by Oregon, Fresno State (842) and Kansas State (843). Miernicki, a sophomore from Santee, Calif., had four birdies in the final round to tied for eighth overall at 4-under 209. Eugene Wong had a 73 in the final round and was Oregon’s high finisher, taking second at 10-under 203. It was the best career finish for the sophomore from North Vancouver, B.C. UC Davis’ Tyler Raber won the individual title at 14-under 199. Other Duck golfers in Oregon’s final tournament of the fall included Andrew Vijarro, who tied for 20th at 212, Sean Maekawa who tied for 27th at 214, and John Paton, who tied for 33rd at 217.
