EUGENE, Ore.  – The senior guard tandem of Micaela Cocks and Taylor Lilley was unstoppable from beyond the three-point arc as Oregon defeated Long Beach State, 102-70, on Sunday afternoon in front of 1,860 fans at McArthur Court.

Cocks scored a career-high 27 points on an almost perfect 8-of-9 performance from the floor and a flawless 5-of-5 mark from three-point range.

Lilley added 25 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the floor and a 7-of-13 effort from behind the three-point line. The veteran duo combined to shoot 12-of-18 from three-point range as the Ducks knocked down 14 total from long distance, a new single-game high for this year, and just one short of tying the all-time single-game record.

With the win, Oregon is now off to an 8-1 mark in non-conference action, marking the program’s best start since 2005-06 – since before Lilley and Cocks arrived on campus.

With the loss, Long Beach State falls to 3-5 on the year.

Oregon’s 102-point effort marked the second time this year the Ducks have hit the century mark. A big part of today’s triple-digit effort was Oregon hitting eight three-pointers in the second half.

Beginning with Cocks draining one from long distance at the 12:55 mark of the second period, the Ducks' next 7-of-8 buckets were from three-point range, ending the streak with Cocks’ fifth of the game as Oregon took a 92-54 lead with 6:12 remaining.

Lilley also tied career highs with her seven assists and four steals, while Cocks’ 5-of-5 performance from long distance was only the second time in UO history a player has made at least five three-pointers and shot a perfect 100 percent.

Oregon had five players finish in double figures with Jasmin Holliday tying a season-high with 13 points and a season-best four steals. For the second straight game, Amanda Johnson fell just a rebound short of her sixth double-double of the year with 11 points, nine boards and four assists. Junior forward Nicole Canepa was a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor, scoring 10 points, including eight in the second half, while setting a new career high with four assists.

For the second consecutive game, Oregon forced a season high in turnovers, as Long Beach State turned the ball over 28 times. The Ducks scored 33 points off 49er miscues.

LBSU was led by Lauren Sims’ 20 points on four three-pointers. Ally Wade added 15 points and Karina Figueroa chipped in 10.

The 49ers shot 39.7 percent, while the Ducks shot a season-best 52.8 percent from the floor.

The Ducks went into halftime with a 52-28 lead, as Long Beach State turned the ball over 16 times and committed 15 fouls, sending the Ducks into bonus at the 6:45 mark of the first half. Oregon sank 7-of-11 from the charity stripe from that point on until the break.

Lilley was on fire in the first half shooting 5-of-10 from the floor and draining four three-pointers for a first-half leading 16 points. Cocks added 13 in the first 20 minutes as well.

In the first half, Oregon built its double-digit lead, 20-10, by the 11:55 mark as Johnson scored in the paint off a dish from Holliday.

Figueroa led LBSU in the first half with nine points, but was spelled with foul trouble committing three in 11 minutes of action.

Notes:  Micaela Cocks first half three-pointer, extended her streak of games with a trey to 25…Cocks is the only UO player to reach double figures in all nine games this season…Sunday’s game vs. Long Beach State was the 100th of Cocks’ UO career – the most of any player on the roster…her 5-of-5 performance was only the second time in UO history a player has made a minimum of five three-pointers and been 100 percent. Kaela Chapdelaine was 6-of-6 from three-point range on Feb. 23, 2008 vs. UCLA...Lilley’s seven three-pointers tie for the third highest mark in single-game history…it was the 17th 20-point game of Lilley’s career…this is the eighth time Oregon has scored at least 86 points this season and the second time the Ducks have hit the century mark.

UP NEXT
The Ducks take the next week off for finals, and will close the non-conference portion of their schedule on the road at Georgia Tech (Dec. 16), Wyoming (Dec. 20) and Utah (Dec. 22).

Oregon will return to Mac Court to open the Pac-10 season against Washington on Jan. 1, 2010.
