ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Oregon stunts and gymnastics team took first place at the USA West Coast Collegiate Championships on Monday afternoon, scoring a 93.88 out of 100 in their two-day team total.

Azusa Pacific placed second with a 92.04 and San Diego State took the bronze with a 89.92.

The final team total was calculated using the Ducks' day one score weighted at 40% and the day two score weighted 60%. Oregon recorded a 92.2 today and a 96.4 yesterday.

"I'm glad we pulled out a win," said head coach Felecia Mulkey "But we didn't hit our routine like we should. We didn't drop anything just a couple bobbles and tumbling mistakes. We have room to grow."

The Ducks avoided a scare early in the routine as Rali Manolova and Mercedez Toles got too close together during a tumbling pass and Manolova appeared to get hurt in a fall. But the junior from Eugene popped right back up and continued in her stunt and pyramid sections, helping the Ducks to their third first place finish of the season.
