Ducks Fall 20-12 at Johns Hopkins

BALTIMORE, Md. - The Oregon lacrosse team was defeated 20-12 at Johns Hopkins on Saturday afternoon. The Ducks slide to 4-6 on the season while the Blue Jays improve to 6-4.

Oregon went down 9-2 in the first half before scoring the final two goals of the opening frame and the first goal of the second stanza. The Blue Jays pushed their lead back up 16-6 but Oregon scored six of the next seven total goals to make the score 17-12. Johns Hopkins scored the final three goals of the game to make it 20-12 at the final bell.

Jana Drummond had a team-high four goals on 10 total shots (six on goal) to go with on assist for five points. She now has the team-lead with 33 total points on 30 goals and three assists this season. The sophomore had 34 goals in all of her breakout freshman campaign.

Catherine Davidson continued her strong play after returning from early season injury. She had her first two goals of the season against Delaware on Thursday and added three more goals and an assist in a reserve role on Saturday. Salliebeth Finnegan started in the net, making 10 saves.

Johns Hopkins got a game-high five goals and a pair of assists from Paige Ibello. Cosette Larash was the Blue Jays' starting keeper, making six saves.

The Ducks play the final game of their Spring Break road trip on Tuesday, battling Florida. This is the first season for the Gators' women's lacrosse program but they are already receiving votes in the most recent Inside Lacrosse top-25 poll.
