EUGENE, Ore. – A pair of home meets, the NCAA West Region Championships and the fifth annual Bill Dellinger Invitational, are the highlights of 2010 men’s and women’s cross country schedule, as announced Friday by Associate Athletic Director Vin Lananna.
Oregon will open the season Sept. 3 at the John Frank Memorial Invitational in Corvallis, Ore. Oregon State, Portland and Portland State will also run at this inaugural race.
October will be a busy month for the harriers with a trip to South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 1, followed by the first home meet of the season, the Bill Dellinger Invitational on Oct. 16 at Springfield Country Club.
"The Bill Dellinger Invitational has become a great cross country meet with terrific fan support and we look forward to carrying on that tradition in 2010," said Lananna.
The Ducks will then run at the Beaver Classic in Corvallis on Oct. 23 before heading to Seattle for the Pacific-10 Championships on Oct. 30.
Oregon will then host the NCAA West Region Championships at Springfield CC for the third time in four years on Nov. 13.
"We are excited to once again host the NCAA West Regional in Track Town, USA," said Lananna, "Last year’s West Regional races were extremely competitive and I anticipate another wonderful competition for both student-athletes and fans."
The 2010 NCAA Championships will be Nov. 22 at Indiana State’s LaVern Gibson Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
The Oregon women return All-Americans Alex Kosinski and Jordan Hasay, while the men feature All-Americans Luke Puskedra, Daniel Mercado and Matthew Centrowitz.
