The accolades keep rolling in for the BCS bound Oregon Ducks with the latest being three named first-team All-America by SI.com: Running back LaMichael James (duh), offensive lineman Jordan Holmes and returner Cliff Harris.
While the SI.com team is not formerly recognized by the NCAA, the recognition is still impressive. James, Holmes and Harris are teammates with the likes of Auburn quarterback Cam Newton, Oklahoma State receiver Justin Blackmon and LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson, to name a few.
John Boyett was named a safety on the second team and receiver Jeff Maehl, tight end David Paulson and Harris at cornerback earned honorable mention.
BCS CHAMPIONSHIP UNIS UNVEILED
With Oregon's tradition of flashy, cutting edge Nike threads, it should come as no surprise that the Ducks will wear new kits for their first trip to the BCS National Championship game. What is somewhat surprising is that their new Nike Pro Combat uniforms are not far off from a typical UO combination. The changes to the jersey's appearance are subtle, with the biggest changes coming in the form of technology. You can read all the specs from Nike's press release HERE.
The cleat and sock combination will probably draw the most buzz. The cleat changes from a grey/silver color at the toe to a lime green at the heel, which blends into the socks. The effect that combo creates at full speed is thought to be a blur.
