Friday, February 25, 2011, 10:30 a.m.
The popular "Tuesdays in Track Town" series will make its 2011 debut this Tuesday (March 1) from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bowerman Building on 15th Avenue.
The first gathering of the year will feature heptathlon world record-holder Ashton Eaton of Oregon Track Club Elite, collegiate pentathlon record-holder Brianne Theisen of the University of Oregon and 2011 Reebok Boston Indoor Games mile champion Russell Brown of OTC Elite.
Associate Athletic Director Vin Lananna will also discuss the March 4 single-meet ticket sales launch for the upcoming season, the 2011 USA Track & Field Championships, which Oregon is again hosting this June, as well as highlights from the current collegiate indoor season.
"Tuesdays in Track Town" is free and open to the public. Those attending are reminded that parking is free after 6 p.m. on 15th Avenue, as well as many of the University lots, but be certain to read parking lot signage carefully.
Future "Tuesdays in Track Town" meeting dates are set for April 5, May 3 and a yet-to-be-determined day in June.
