Walker's Pace: Women Remain No. 3; Men 13th

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Thanks to the likes of Jamesha Youngblood's nation-leading long jump at the Mt. SAC Relays and season bests from English Gardner (100 meters), Mandy White (200 meters), Chizoba Okodogbe (400 meters), Laura Roesler (800 meters), Anne Kesselring (1,500 meters), Jordan Hasay (5,000 meters), Laura Bobek (discus) and both relays, among others, the women remained No. 3 in the latest USTFCCCA poll.

The men, despite a number of good performances in a draw at UCLA plus David Klech's PR in the decathlon at Mt. SAC, silpped a couple of spots to No. 13.

With the Pac-10 Championships now a month away, the team races are starting to take shape. On the men's side, USC leads the way at No. 6, followed by No. 8 Stanford, Oregon, No. 16 Arizona, which hosts the 2011 league meet, and No. 24 UCLA.

For the women, the Ducks are the top ranked team, followed closely by No. 4 USC, No. 8 Arizona, No. 10 Arizona State, No. 17 Stanford and No. 19 Washington State.

By the way, Colorado is ranked No. 16 in the women's poll for those looking ahead to what will be the Pac-12 championships in 2012.
