EUGENE, Ore. - The calendar may still say October, but that won't prevent the University of Oregon men's basketball team from starting their exhibition season Monday by hosting Concordia University at 7 p.m. at Matthew Knight Arena.

Oregon third-year head coach Dana Altman returns five letterwinners from last year's team, which went 24-10 overall and finished tied for second in the Pac-12 Conference at 13-5, while welcoming nine newcomers, including six freshmen, to the Ducks' roster for 2012-13.

On the court, Oregon will again be led by forward E.J. Singler. Now a senior, the second-team All-Pac-12 choice has started 79 consecutive games for the Ducks and last season became just the 13th player in school history to score 1,000 points (1,114) and grab 500 rebounds (546).

Concordia University, located in Portland, is an NAIA institution that plays out of the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Cavaliers are coached by Brad Barbarick, who is beginning his 19th season at the helm. Concordia was 14-16 a year ago - 6-12 in the CCC - and returns five letterwinners from that team.

The lone returning starter for the Cavaliers, junior forward Adam Herman, was the team's top scorer and rebounder last season, averaging 19.6 points and 7.7 boards per game.

The Ducks open their regular season on Saturday, Nov. 10, against Northern Arizona at Matthew Knight Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. with a live telecast on Pac-12 Networks.

Tickets start as low as $10 for both UO exhibitions (Southwestern Oklahoma State visits MKA on Nov. 5) can be purchased online, via phone (800-WEBFOOT, 541-346-4461) or in person at the MKA and Moshofsky Center ticket offices.

Oregon's exhibition vs. Concordia University will feature a live video web stream via Pac-12 Digital.
