WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- The Pac-12 Conference office announced the Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for the week of Nov. 12-18. Stanford’s Chiney Ogwumike was voted the Pac-12 Player of the Week after helping the Cardinal orchestrate an upset of then-No. 1 Baylor. Oregon’s Jillian Alleyne was selected the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week after breaking the league’s rebounding record.

Alleyne (Fontana, Calif.) registered school records of 38 points and 27 rebounds in a double-overtime home loss to Portland State last week. Alleyne came off the bench to match the school record for points and established a new mark for rebounds in what was just her second-collegiate game. The 27 boards bettered the previous Pac-12 mark set nearly 20 years ago by UCLA’s Natalie Williams in 1994.

Alleyne’s rebounding mark also took down UO’s 34-year-old mark that had stood since 1978. Alleyne scored 30 of her 38 points, and grabbed 21 of her 27 rebounds in the second half and the two overtime periods. In fact, Alleyne amassed a double-double in the two overtime periods alone (10 points and 10 rebounds). She went 13-of-24 on field goals and made 12-of-19 free throw attempts in the contest. Alleyne also contributed four steals and three blocks, both of which were team-bests in the game.

Ogwumike (Cypress, Texas) earned Most Valuable Player honors at the Rainbow Wahine Classic after leading Stanford to a perfect 3-0 mark and an upset of the defending NCAA Champion Baylor Bears. With the win, the Cardinal is the new No. 1 team in the country in the Associated Press poll, marking the first time since 2005 that a Pac-12 squad has received the top national ranking.

Going head-to-head against the reigning national player of the year in Brittney Griner, Ogwumike scored 18 points on 8-for-14 shooting, including her first-career three pointer. She also grabbed eight rebounds in the win which snapped a 42-game Baylor winning streak. She followed up with a pair of double-doubles, putting up 15 points and 17 rebounds against host Hawai’i, and 20 points and 10 boards in the win over UT-Martin.

For the weekend, Ogwumike averaged 19.3 points and 11.7 rebounds while shooting 62.5 percent (25-for-40) from the field. Ogwumike was also named the ESPNW National Player of the Week on Monday.

This is Ogwumike’s fourth-career player of the week honor and Stanford’s 86th all-time. Alleyne earns the weekly honor for the first time in her career. It is the first season the Pac-12 has selected a freshman of the week.

The top-ranked Cardinal are back in action on Sunday, Nov. 25 when it hosts Long Beach State. The game will be streamed live on pac-12.com. The Ducks hit the road for the Rainbow Wahine Showdown from Nov. 23-25, where they will face host-Hawai’i, No. 13 Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Also Nominated for player of the week were Gennifer Brandon of California, Arielle Roberson of Colorado, Alyssia Brewer of UCLA, Cassie Harberts of USC, Taryn Wicijowski of UTAH, Talia Walton of WASH and Carly Noyes of Washington State.
