GAME TIME AND MR. CLOONEY
Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008

Oregon spent its second day enjoying the beautiful and historic landscape of Lake Como during the morning and afternoon, while spending the evening playing its first game against AD Basket Team Crema.

Ellie Manou took honors for the Hollywood-look on the cruise, sporting her starlet stunna shades on the water. Ellie swears she saw George, the best-looking man-cougar alive, in a coffee shop by the Bellagio, but the report is still unconfirmed.

Below are some shots of Lake Como, absolutely gorgeous!!!!

Our tour guide said this is George's crib.

If you'd like to relocate to Lake Como, our guide informed us it would only set you back 8 million euro.

When we arrived at the deck of the Bellagio we all went are separate ways. Some shopped for jewelry and gifts for family and friends, while others enjoyed panninis.

While on the way there we saw some juveniles taking part in some fishing from the bridge. Apparently school is in session in Italy, but when you live on Lake Como, can you really blame them for playing hooky?

On the way back the trio of Rita Kollo, Nia Jackson and Ellie Manou posed for the money shot on the deck. But a downpour of rain had the group running under the roofed seats for cover later on.

The team rested before making its way to the gym for a game with AD Basket Team Crema.

The Ducks prevailed with a 108-40 victory. Rita Kollo, in her first unoffical game as a member of the Oregon women's basketball team, scored a game-high 23 points, adding two rebounds and four assists.

Ellie Manou notched a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Taylor Lilley added 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Every Oregon player put their mark in the scorebook: Micaela Cocks (12 pts, 3 reb, 1 ast), Ellyce Ironmonger (12 pts, 6 reb), Victoria Kenyon (5 pts, 8 reb, 1 ast), Tatianna Thomas (8 pts, 4 reb), Nia Jackson (8 pts, 1 reb, 3 ast), Nicole Canpea (8 pts, 6 reb, 1 ast).

Head coach Bev Smith is still as popular as ever in Italy. Pre and post game, the former coach and player in the Italian professional league, signed several autographs and posed for numerous photos.

Now it's off to bed...this blog is keeping me up way past my bedtime (12:12 a.m. Wednesday, 3:12 p.m., Tuesday Eugene) so its time to sign off for now.

We're off to Treviso tomorrow and a former Duck (Mary Sbrissa) will be there to meet us. We'll also make a stop in Vicenza on the way, to visit the former town Smith coached in.

Also, for Shannon, Nathan and Mitchell, be sure to check back tomorrow for a special message from two people who miss you very much!!!!!!!
