Stormy Conditions Expected at Cal
Friday, October 31, 11:45 p.m. PT

What a difference a week makes. Not in terms of Oregon's practice routine going into a Pac-10 road game, but in the playing conditions they are likely to encounter at Cal tomorrow. Last week, the temperature at kickoff was 79 degrees under clear skies. This week? Not so much. To fill in the details, let's turn it over to Bobby Corser, president of the Oregon chapter of the American Meteorological Society for the Duckcast:

The Ducks venture to the Bay Area as the Cal Bears wait high atop the hills in Berkeley. While the weather will remind the Ducks of Eugene, the rain and wind could be a factor. Rain will fall most of the day and winds could get gusty. The location of Memorial Stadium high above the city could really play tricks with the ball as the wind will swirl around the bowl. Temperatures will be in the 50's. Winds could gust into the 20's. If you are going to the game, take a raincoat!

DUCKS ALL BUSINESS IN PREP WORK FOR BEARS
Oregon football practice this week took on the tone of last week's preparation for a key conference road game. The Ducks are two-thirds of the way through the regular season, have continuity throughout the depth chart on both offense and defense, and know how to navigate the college football landscape away from Autzen Stadium. This quote by Tom Landry appeared on the bulletin board in the football office this week:
"A team that has character doesn't need stimulation." That's a pretty good summation of the 2008 Ducks.

JOHNSON BACK IN THE FOLD
SO ROV Marvin Johnson, who missed last week's trip to Tempe due to a knee injury, returned to practice this week and is on the 64-man travel roster for today's flight to the Bay Area. He takes the place of FR LB Dewitt Stuckey. The only other change from a week ago is the addition of FR OL Darrion Weems, who takes the place of FR TE David Paulson.
