Ron Snidow
Position: Hall of Fame Inductee
Other Position: Inductee, Football (1959-1962)

Seldom has a player been so overlooked by some yet meant so much to others. The three-year starting tackle coupled his speed and relentless pursuit to sparkle on defense with an unsurpassed intensity as a blocker on offense to form half of one of the finest interior line tandems in the country. While not attracting the national attention as did a pair of his All-America teammates, there was no mistaking his contributions or perception by others as the senior co-captain was named the Ducks’ most outstanding player (Hoffman Award) his final year. Ron Snidow started as a sophomore for a team that faced Penn State in the 1960 Liberty Bowl before completing his Oregon tenure for squads that accumulated no fewer than eight team records over his last three years. The 1962 All-Coast pick - who also served as his team’s punter for two seasons - continued his playing career as a 10-year NFL veteran with Washington and Cleveland before receiving his alma mater’s Leo Harris Award in 1983 (based on 20 years of achievement and service since graduation).
