Walker's Pace: Women Jump to No. 2 After Strong Showing at Notre Dame

Following their impressive second-place showing at Notre Dame over the weekend, the Oregon women's cross country team jumped three spots to No. 2 in the latest USTFCCCA cross country poll.
It it the highest ranking of the season for the women. Defending NCAA champion Villanova, which won the Notre Dame Invitational, retained the top spot, followed by Oregon, Florida State, Texas Tech and Georgetown. Pac-10 rival Arizona moved up three spots to No. 6 for its highest ranking of 2010.
On the men's side, Oregon's win in South Bend hepled it at No.3, where the Ducks have been all season. The top four held steady with Stanford leading Oklahoma State, Oregon and Colorado. Northern Arizona moved up two spots to No. 5.
Also in the poll were a couple of men's teams headed to next week's Bill Dellinger Invitational in No. 8 Portland and No. 11 Wisconsin.
