Full Court Press: Open Practice & Parkas For Pakistan

Don’t forget the Oregon women’s basketball team will unlock the doors (northwest corner next to will call) to McArthur Court at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, for the club’s annual open practice. The Fast Break Club will also be holding its annual membership drive, as well as hosting a Duck Sale featuring authentic player jerseys and other Oregon items.
Oregon women’s basketball radio announcer Terry Jonz will also be on the mic to announce student-athlete introductions, before the team begins a two-hour practice session which will include skill work, drills, and a scrimmage.
Following practice, the Oregon women’s basketball team will be available to sign autographs, and The Duck will also be in attendance.
PARKAS FOR PAKISTAN
The University of Oregon is teaming up with St. Vincent de Paul Nov. 2 and Nov. 3, to collect outerwear items for people in Pakistan affected by the recent devastating flooding.
Spearheaded by UO international studies professor Anita Weiss who is an expert on Pakistan and travels there frequently, the UO will host two days of collection of much-needed items. Parkas (of course), jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, warm pants, blankets, sleeping bags and plastic sheeting material that are collected will be sent to Pakistan to support recovery efforts.
Tuesday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. donations will be accepted at the UO Athletics Department Moshofsky Center on Leo Harris Parkway. The O Heroes student-athletes will team up with St. Vincent de Paul volunteers to accept donations.
Wednesday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. to tipoff of the Oregon women’s basketball game at approximately 7 p.m., donations will be accepted on campus at University Street just south of Mac Court and next to Howe Field. St. Vincent de Paul will be joined by students from the UO Holden Leadership Center to collect donated items.
Everyone who donates items can receive a voucher for free admission to the UO women’s basketball exhibition game vs. Willamette University, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m., in appreciation for the donation.

The flex plan ensures fans a chance to catch the first women’s basketball game to ever be played at Matthew Knight Arena. The flex plan is a six-game package for the price of $55 - a 20 percent savings. The package allows fans a choice of one exhibition game, two non-conference games and two Pacific-10 Conference games as well as guaranteeing a ticket to the first women’s basketball game at Matthew Knight Arena in the Civil War match up vs. Oregon State on Jan. 23.
The weekend plan allows fans to be a part of history with a ticket for two unforgettable games. The weekend plan includes a seat for both the final game at McArthur Court vs. Washington on Jan. 8, and the first women’s contest at Matthew Knight Arena in a Civil War match up with the Beavers on Jan. 23. The weekend plan consists of tickets for all nine weekend home games at a price of $73 - a savings of over 30 percent.
