Walker's Pace: Kesselring Named Pac-10 AOW

Anne Kesselring was recognized for her nation-leading performance in the 800 meters at the Oregon Relays, presented by Oregon Community Credit Union, by being named the Pac-10 Women's Track Athlete of the Week. Kesselring was truly impressive in hanging with OTC Elite's Geena Gall until the end. The amazing race produced a world-leading time from Gall (2:02.04) and a collegiate-leading time from Kesselring (2:02.44). That time moved Kesselring to No. 5 on the UO career list.

Kesselring is the second Duck selected by the Pac-10 this spring. English Gardner was the women's track honoree on April 11.

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Pac-10 Conference outdoor track and field athlete of the week honors for April 18-24, 2011:

Men's Track Athlete of the Week: Ryan Milus, ARIZONA STATE (RS Fr., Chandler, Ariz.) 

Milus turned in a stellar performance at the Sun Devil Open, winning the 100 and 200 meter events and anchoring the victorious 4x100 relay team. Milus used a tailwind of 3.9 to win the 100m in 10.07, moving him up to No. 5 nationally this year. He also ran the team's first sub-21-second time in the 200m this season as he clocked in at 20.91 with a wind of 3.1 in his face.

Men's Field Athlete of the Week: Trey Henderson (Sr., Vancouver, B.C.)

Henderson won the Tiny Lister Classic hammer throw competition on April 22 with a mark of 218-8 (66.66m). It was his fifth hammer throw title of the season. Henderson already leads the Pac-10 with a throw of 227-10 this season, which ranks third in the country and is more than 13 feet ahead of the next best throw in the Conference.

Women's Track Athlete of the Week: Anne Kesselring, OREGON (So., Nurnberg, Germany)

Kesselring ran a nation-leading 2:02.44 in the 800 meters at the Oregon Relays, finishing second to professional Geena Gall, who ran a world-leading 2:02.04. Kesselring's time was a two-second personal best and moved her to No. 5 on the Oregon career list.

Women's Field Athlete of the Week: Julie Labonte, ARIZONA (So., Sainte-Justine, Quebec)

Labonte equalled the Canadian outdoor national record in the shot put with a career-best throw of 58-6 (17.83m) to finish third at the Triton Invitational. The throw matched Leija Tunks' Canadian record set in 2007 and gives Labonte possession of Canada's indoor and outdoor national records. Labonte was the top collegiate performer in the event and extended her NCAA-leading mark. Her throw currently ranks 11th in the world for the 2011 outdoor season.
