EUGENE – Rosters have been set for Saturday’s Oregon Spring Game, with quarterback Darron Thomas hoping that the fourth time is a charm.

The Ducks’ final intrasquad scrimmage of the spring, presented by Bi-Mart, will kickoff at 1 p.m. in Autzen Stadium in front of an ESPN2 national television audience, as Oregon’s returning starting quarterback looks to be part of the victorious team in the annual Spring Game for the first time in his fourth try.

Admission for the event is a request for three non-perishable food items, which will be donated to Food for Lane County.

The Oregon coaches dispersed the players representing the two teams as evenly as possible through a draft, with offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich heading the White Team and defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti overseeing the visitors.

The game will consist of regulation quarters in the first and second quarters, a 10minute halftime and a running clock in the second half.

A tribute to the men and women serving in the military overseas again will provide the backdrop for the two hour exhibition. The halftime ceremony will include a howitzer volley and a traditional flag folding ceremony, with the flag to be handed over to Navy veteran Rear Admiral John Dick the lone surviving member of the school’s 1939 NCAA national championship basketball team.

Following the contest, all Oregon players will hand over their game jerseys, designed by Nike specifically for the Spring Game, to selected members of the armed forces in attendance Saturday.

Parking in the east Autzen Stadium lots, which will open at 10:30 a.m., will be $5 per automobile, with the stadium gates opening at noon. In addition, buses will transport fans to and from the stadium free of charge from Valley River Center (northwest parking lot) and South Eugene High School. The Sports Shuttles will begin opperation at 11 a.m. until the start of the game, and will resume transporting riders back to the park and ride locations beginning at 3 p.m.

The Moshofsky Center will open at 11 a.m. for a two hour Fan Fest that will include music, interactive games, as well as representation from branches of the nation’s armed services, the Oregon National Guard and the Coast Guard.

The Ducks’ athletics ticket office also will be on hand to answer any late questions regarding renewals of football season tickets from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the south ticket building next to the main Autzen Stadium entrance. The official deadline for renewals is Friday (April 29).
