Oregon quarterback Darron Thomas and running back LaMichael James are among the 66 players named to the preseason watch list for the 2011 Maxwell Award, to be presented to college football's most outstanding player Dec. 8 at the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards.

The UO juniors make up two of the 11 Pac-12 players on the list and the Ducks are one of four conference teams with two selections, joining Arizona, Stanford and USC.

James was a semifinalist for the award last season, which was won by Auburn quarterback Cam Newton.

The Maxwell Football Club also released the preseason watch list for the Chuck Bednarik Award on Tuesday, but no Ducks are currently under consideration for college football's top individual defensive honor.
