Position:
James Purchin is in his second season as a manager with the Oregon women’s basketball team. Purchin’s responsibilities include managing all practice facilities and equipment before and after practice. He distributes uniforms and apparel to team members for daily practice and games, while also helping record stats during games.

Purchin coached two seasons with the 3Ball Academy in San Luis Obispo, Calif., where he mentored players and operated under the direction of Mike Wozniak (former Division I basketball player at Cal Poly State University). Purchin was also a head coach at Old Mission Middle School for the seventh grade team, ending its season with an undefeated record of 19-0 and winning three tournaments.

While at Arroyo Grande, Purchin played basketball four years of basketball advancing to the CIF semi finals and earning the “Don Robertson Award” (Most Inspirational Basketball Player). He also served in the Associated Student Body as the sports coordinator.
