Ducks Sign Tennis Standout Brent Chin

EUGENE, Ore. - The University of Oregon men's tennis team is proud to announce the signing of Brent Chin of Grant High School in Portland, Ore. to a National Letter of Intent. 

The 5'7", 112-pound senior is rated a four-star prospect by with a career record of 36-12. 

"As a program we are excited to keep Brent close to home as he starts his college career," said men's head coach Nils Schyllander. "It is important to us to keep the top Oregon talent in state and with Brent's commitment to the Ducks I feel that has been accomplished."

In three years at Grant HS, Chin has been a three-time 6A Champion including taking third place in the State tournament as a junior.  Playing at the number one spot in singles, Chin finished the 2010 campaign ranked No. 4 in the Pacific Northwest by the United States Tennis Association. 

In addition to his Northwest ranking, Chin is rated the No. 2 player in the state of Oregon by heading into the 2011 season.  As a senior, Brent has produced a semifinal appearance at the Pacific Northwest Sectional Championships.
