No. 21 Ducks Miss NCAA Championships by One Stroke

UO had two top-20 finishers in the event, Cassy Isagawa and Cali Hipp. Isagawa (75-72-77-224) finished in a tie for 14th overall, after shooting a five-over 77 in the final round on Saturday. Hipp (78-72-76-226) shot four-over 76 and placed in a tie for 18th overall. Her score of 76 tied for the lowest score of the day for the Ducks.
The Ducks also counted scorecards from sophomore Raphaela Dyer (38th-tie, 78-76-76-230) and senior Ashley Edwards (75th-tie, 81-80-77-238). Dyer shot a four-over 76 for the second consecutive day, and tied Cali Hipp for the lowest score on the team for the Ducks today. Edwards had her best round of the event Saturday with a five-over 77. Junior Cheyenne Hickle (104th-tie, 77-83-85) also made the trip.
In the team standings, No. 3 USC (298-290-286-874) continued their roll and finished in first place after each round, claiming medalist honors. Vanderbilt (308-292-299-899) stayed in second place for the second day after shooting 11-over 299. Three shots back, Purdue (301-307-294-902) rounded out the leader board in third place after having their best round of golf. The five other teams moving on the NCAA Championships (in order from fourth place finish to eighth): Tennessee, Virginia, Ohio State, North Carolina State, and Arkansas.
The two individuals moving on to the NCAA Championships are Maria Salinas of Florida State and Rocio Sanchez Lobato of Georgia. Salinas finished in a tie for first place overall, shooting two-under 70 today and completing the tournament at three-under 213. Sanchez Lobato shot six-over 222 after three rounds and placed in a tie for 10th place overall.
The NCAA Central Regional rounds out the 2011-2012 season for the Ducks, who finished their season ranked 21st.
