The student-athlete for the week of September 9th is Kenjon Barner from the Oregon football team. The redshirt senior running back paced the Ducks' offensive attack en route to a 42-25 victory over Fresno State.

Barner set career highs in rushing attempts and rushing yards with 34 carries and 212 yards, and added three receptions for 21 yards. Two of Barner's three touchdowns on the day came in the first half, each from three yards out. In the 4th quarter, with Fresno State closing the gap to a two-score game, Barner darted for a 16-yard touchdown run with 3:51 left to put the game away for the Ducks.

A Journalism major from Riverside, California, Kenjon is on the watch list for the Maxwell Award (college player of the year), the Doak Walker Award (top running back), and Paul Hornung Award (most versatile player).

Barner and his teammates take on Tennessee Tech this Saturday at noon.
