EUGENE, Ore.- The University of Oregon women’s golf team moved up one spot into 10th place after two rounds at the Mason Rudolph Championship. Oregon shot 17-over-par 305 on Saturday at the Legend Club North Course in Nashville, Tenn.
Freshman Caroline Inglis had her best collegiate round shooting 1-under-par 71. Inglis moved up into a tie for 14th place and had the best score of the day for the Ducks.
“Caroline stayed steady and even tempered all day,” Oregon head coach Ria Scott said. “Her short game and distance control were great. It is always fun to see a first year college player step up like that and already make such an impact.”
The Ducks battled through some windy conditions today with gusts between 5 and 10 mph.
“We really got it going on the front nine and just couldn’t hold on during the back nine,” Scott said. “Considering we still didn’t have our best golf and the conditions got tougher, the team still grinded it out and was able to move up one spot.”
Cassy Isagawa (73-77-150) dropped 12 places into a tie for 20th place after shooting 5-over-par 77. Senior Hanule Sky Seo (65th-82-78-160) improved from yesterday’s round after shooting 6-over-par 78 in the second round. The Ducks also counted sophomore Monica Petchakan’s (61st-80-79159) score, who shot 7-over-par 79. Cali Hipp (61st-75-84-159) also made the trip.
Arizona (298-286-584) jumped into first place after an impressive round, shooting 2-under-par. Texas (294-295-589) fell one spot into second place and Texas A&M (302-293) jumped up into third after having an impressive second round.
The individual standings changed after the second round, Arizona’s Kendall Price jumped into first place (up from a tie for eighth). In a tie for second, Georgia’s Emilie Burger and Texas A&M’s Natalie Reeves moved up from a tie for 28th.
