EUGENE, Ore.- The University of Oregon women’s golf team moved up one spot into a tie for fourth place in the final round of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational. The Ducks (302-306-310-918) shot 22-over 310 on Wednesday at the Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash.
Sophomore Cassy Isagawa (74-74-71-219) finished in fifth place overall after shooting one-under 71, her best score of the tournament and also had the teams lowest score.
“I can say I am content with my finish,” Isagawa said. “It was a good bounce back for me after the last tournament. I know I left a lot out there, but I’m going to look forward to the next tournament.”
Early-morning fog forced tournament personnel to change from tee time starts to a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
“I think that (having a shotgun start) helped me today so I wasn’t able to over think my swing and my putting,” Isagawa said.
Fellow sophomore Cali Hipp (79-80-75-234) had her best score of the event today when she shot three-over 75. Junior Raphaela Dyer (84-75-82-241) and freshman Caroline Inglis (72-77-82-231) both shot 10-over 82 in the final round today. Dyer fell seven spots into a tie for 50th place and Inglis dropped into a tie for 22nd overall. Monica Petchakan (77-81-87-245) also competed today and finished the tournament in a tie for 60th place.
Washington’s SooBin Kim (71-67-67-205) competed as an individual and won medalist honors with a new tournament score. She finished the event at 11-under 205 after shooting five-under 67 on the day. UC Irvine’s Michelle Park (75-70-72-217), Washington’s Charlotte Thomas (71-73-73-217) and Stanford’s Sally Watson (72-74-71-217) all finished the tournament at one-over 217 and tied for second place.
On the team leader board No.6 Washington (293-293-300-886) kept their number one spot during the entire invitational. 14 shots back No.7 UC Davis (302-292-306-900) claimed second place after shooting 36-over throughout the three-day event. Stanford (299-308-298-905) moved up one place into third after carding the best score of the day by shooting 10-over 298.
The Ducks close out their fall season next weekend, Oct. 19-Oct. 21 in the Stanford Intercollegiate at the Stanford Golf Course.
