Tuesday, October 16, 2012
The Men of Oregon earned their highest ranking of the season at No. 8, while the women moved up a spot to No. 3 in this week's USTFCCCA poll.
In the last three polls, the Duck men have gone from No. 23 to No. 15 and now to No. 8.
The latest surge came after the men finished third at the Pre-Nationals meet over the weekend in Louisville, Ky.
The women also improved a spot to No. 3 after their runner-up showing in Louisville.
The men's poll underwent tremendous turmoil with last week's No. 1 team, Wisconsin, tumbling all the way to No. 20. That left Oklahoma State moving into the top spot, followed by Colorado, Stanford, Iona, BYU, Oklahoma, Texas and Oregon.
UCLA was at No. 15, giving the Pac-12 four men's teams in the top 15..
Florida State remained No. 1 in the women's poll, with Iowa State No. 2. They were followed by an impressive four Pac-12 teams - Oregon, Stanford, Arizona and Washington - at No. 3-6. Also from the Pac-12, Colorado was at No. 21 and UCLA No. 24.
The Pac-12 championships are Oct. 27 in Santa Clarita, Calif.
