Each week O Heroes sits down with one of our student-athletes to get to know more about them on and off the field. This week we feature English Gardner, a 5-6 sprinter on the Oregon Women’s Track & Field team.
English is currently pursuing a General Social Sciences degree with a focus in Crime, Law, and Society. Her determination for success in the classroom and on the track parallels her commitment to the Eugene-Springfield community.
This NCAA and Pac-12 champion is a student-athlete of many talents. Most recently, English sang the National Anthem and assisted participants at the finish line at the Race for the Cure event at Autzen Stadium. Growing up around her father’s non-profit organization, English continues giving back at Oregon and involves herself with many O Heroes community events.
After college, English hopes to run professionally and continue her community work as a juvenile counselor and as a mentor to kids.

** Due to English's busy track schedule, she was unable to fill out the survey by hand. Answers on this survey were sent to O Heroes via email and written in by O Heroes staff.
