Postgame Quotes

-----------------------------------------------------

Coach Dana Altman

Opening Statement…
“Our ball movement tonight was awesome and I think we did a really good job cutting down on their ball movement. Our energy from the start was key for us. I am really happy with the way that we played tonight, we took a big stride as a team this week.”

On this week’s preparation…
“We had a really good week of practice, we still have a long way to go, but we took a big step tonight overall.”

On what needs to imporove this week in practice…
“We really need to work on our zone defense. It is something that we are going to use for the rest of the season, it was nice to work on it during the game tonight.”

On this month of games…
“This is the most crucial month of the season for us. If we are going to make some noise in the Pac-12 we need to go into conference play with a good month of preparation/games.”

Center Tony Woods
On the game…
"A lot of things were working tonight. We got the ball moving well and that was big for us early on. Everyone was sharing the ball, getting open shots and that carried on throughout the whole game."

On their defense…
"Tonight we did a really good job of talking on defense in the first half. In the second half, we moved to a zone where we didn't talk as much and got a little stagnant, but communication on defense has been big for us."

Forward E.J. Singler
On whats next…
"I think the Nebraska game will really test us to make that big step. But I think tonight, we did take a step. That's really big for us. We were really focusing on our turnovers to assists this week and it showed tonight. It showed that if we pass the ball and make plays for other people, good things happen."

On continuing to battle through the game…
“You just have to battle through it. You have to look at it and say its just a time for us to get better as a team. I thought we still played hard, just like if we were playing a really, really good team. I think sharing the ball and limiting our turnovers showed some really good things tonight.”
