DUCKS IN THE MIDST OF BEST HOME WINNING STREAK SINCE 2004
The Ducks have won seven consecutive matches at home to open up the 2013 season and nine straight dating back to the end of the 2012 campaign.  The seven-match winning streak matches the best start at home since the 2004 season, when Oregon won its first eight in Eugene.

LONG’S STREAK CONTINUES FOLLOWING OHIO TRIP
Despite Oregon’s loss to Akron, sophomore Nicole Long continued her impressive conference-leading winning streak by defeating Prang Pantusart in the No. 2 match in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.  Long has won 13 straight singles matches and is 16-2 overall.

BUTTNER ECLIPSES SINGLES WIN TOTAL FROM A YEAR AGO
Junior Lana Buttner is 8-5 overall in singles matches this year, already topping her seven wins from the 2012 spring.  A year ago, Buttner finished 7-9 and was 2-4 in dual matches and 5-5 in tournament play.  Buttner is already 6-2 in dual matches this year and is 2-3 in tournament play.  Her three-set victory on Feb. 16 against East Tennessee State sealed the match for Oregon.

METZGER PUTS TOGETHER SUCCESSFUL HOMECOMING
Oregon senior Julia Metzger, a native of Perrysburg, Ohio, went 2-0 in singles play on Feb. 16 and 17 in Akron, Ohio.  On Feb. 16, Metzger beat East Tennessee State’s Anna Gerbasi, 6-3, 6-2, in the No. 3 match and followed the win up by recording another No. 3 singles win against Akron’s Angelika Jogasuria (6-3, 6-1) the next day.  Metzger is 7-1 in dual play, has won five straight matches and has not lost since the Feb. 1 match against Gonzaga.
